Help Thank a Farmer!

Calling all parents, guardians, educators, and more!

Stanton Marketing is asking for YOUR help this holiday season. We are launching our first ever Help Thank a Farmer project here in Connecticut!

As a mom of two and a former teacher, I know how crazy busy the holiday season gets, but also have days where I am desperate for activities and crafts to do with my kids (especially after the funk of daylight savings, am I right?!).

This year, we’re asking that you take some time to talk to your children, students, or other kids you know about the importance of our farmers and the work they put in to feed the world every single day.

Here are some talking points that you can incorporate into your conversations:

  • Review the different animals that live on the farm and the variety of food and drink that they can offer

    • Cheeses, milk, butter, beef, etc.

  • Emphasize the different crops (both fruits and vegetables) farmers grow and have conversations about their favorites

    • Corn, cucumbers, tomatoes, potatoes, peppers, pumpkins, squash, strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, apples, peaches, melon, etc.

  • Explain that this year, due to the vast amounts of rain and unpredictable weather, farmers had to work extra hard to get food to us.

After you’ve had some quick conversations about the importance of our farmers in Connecticut, it’s time to give our kids the opportunity to say thanks to our farmers! All you need is a piece of paper, some crayons/markers, and an open heart.

Here’s how it works!

  1. Explain that they are going to write/draw a card to our farmers in Connecticut, to thank them for all their hard work this year.

  2. Let them be creative: Depending on their age and ability, they can simply just draw pictures, or write an actual letter about why they are thankful! They can write generalized thank you’s, OR if you have a specific farm in Connecticut that you love, they can personalize it.

  3. Once they are completed, send them to the Stanton Marketing Office at the following address by December 8th

    Stanton Marketing

    543 Prospect Ave.

    Hartford, CT 06105

  4. The Stanton Marketing Team will hand deliver your thank you notes to our farms in Connecticut to show our appreciation for our farmers the week of December 11th!

We thank YOU in advance for helping us show how much we appreciate our farmers here in Connecticut! Now have fun, and get creative!
