Peaches!

What is it about peaches that can just put an immediate smile on your face? Could it be that they are so beautifully painted in orange, pink, and white hues? Could it be that they are round, soft, and fuzzy? Maybe it’s because we’ve adopted the adjective “peachy” into our vocabulary to represent excellence and positivity. Or perhaps we salivate over a delicious peach recipe that makes us think of home. Whatever it is - peaches sure can leave us s-peach-less!

I think for me, one of the best parts about peaches is that I can ALWAYS find a song to sing about them! Which one is your favorite?

Okay, okay….Now that we’ve got a tune stuck in our head about peaches, let’s refocus and get back to the main attraction - peaches…the fruit!

Did You Know…?

  • There are thousands of varieties of peaches in the world

  • Peach trees can stand up to 20 feet tall - but most farmers only let them grow 10-13 feet to allow easier picking!

  • A smooth peach (without the fuzz) is called a nectarine

  • Peaches, though normally light orange, can also be yellow, red, or white

  • Peaches have many vitamins and minerals

  • Georgia is known as the “Peach State”
