Farm Businesses at the Big E!

The 2023 Big E has officially started! This year, the Connecticut Department of Agricultura is excited to announce eight new agricultural businesses at the Connecticut Building. These businesses will be featured with the nine returning businesses, showcasing the diversity of the agricultural landscape here in CT!

Here are the newly featured businesses & returning businesses:

  • New this year: Hilltop Apiaries, Wholly Goat Farm, Maplewood Farm, Hyde’s Dairy, Double Trouble Acres, R Farm, Blue Hills Too, and Amazing Love

  • Returning: Twin Pines Farm, Union Bee Company, CT Agricultural Experiment Station, Guardians Farm, CT Grown, CT Dairy, Killam & Bassette Farmstead, Newgate Farms, and Sweet Wind Farm

Come check out these businesses and you’ll see a variety of honey, maple syrup, dairy, jellies, relishes, tomato sauce, and so much more! To see when each business will be featured, click here.

Stop by the Connecticut Winery Booth to see an array of wines produced by local farm wineries in CT. You can purchase a glass of various reds, whites, rose’, or frose’ (SO good)!

The fun doesn’t stop there though! Mark your calendar for September 20th, Connecticut Day, to see educational displays as well as cheese samples and giveaways from Arethusa Dairy in Bantam. Earlier this year, this farm’s award-winning Europa was crowned the top cheese in the United States by the U.S. Championship Cheese Contest. I’m thinking it’s a MUST try! (Pro tip - keep your eye open for it in your Modern Milkman delivery!)

Want to be entered in a $500 prize package giveaway?! Just sign up for the consumer e-newsletter to learn more about CT Grown products and you’ll automatically be entered!
