CT Grown Holiday Beverages!

Drink up! The holiday season is a time for family and friends to gather together, and what better way to do it than to indulge in some CT Grown holiday beverages! Whether you’re hosting, going out, or staying home cozied up by the fire, we’ve got you covered for your holiday beverage options this season.

Eggnog

What was once considered a luxury beverage, eggnog is still a staple drink during the holiday season! Eggnog is a mix of milk, cream, sugar, egg yolks, and whipped egg whites, which gives it a thick and creamy consistency that people love. Learn more about eggnog and grab a bottle  at your local farm here.

Coquito

Commonly referred to as Puerto Rican eggnog, Coquito is another delicious option this holiday season. Though the ingredients of coconut milk, coconut cream, and vanilla aren’t exactly CT Grown, you can still incorporate eggs with condensed milk from your local farm. Also try adding some rum from your local distillery! YUM!

Wine

We typically think of our farm wineries as a summer outing. Well, think again! Some of Connecticut's 45 farm wineries welcome guests well into the winter months. What is more perfect than getting cozy with a bottle of wine at one of your local wineries?! Better yet, grab a few bottles to enjoy in the luxury of your own home or bring to your next holiday event!

Beer

Head on over to one of the many Connecticut breweries this holiday season. The breweries are open year round, so don’t worry about the weather. You can get comfy in the toasty taprooms and take your pick of the perfect holiday beer. Many breweries create holiday ales that include ingredients like cinnamon and orange peels. Whiskeys & Spirits

Not a beer or wine drinker? Don’t fret! The number of distilleries are growing in Connecticut so you have options of bourbon, gin, rum, vodka, whiskey, and other spirit options! This holiday season, try a hot toddy, spiked hot chocolate, or a nor’easter (the winter spin off of a Moscow Mule). You can even grab some fresh rosemary and cranberries from your local farm and try out a Winter Margarita — you won’t regret it!
