Killam & Bassette Credit Card CSA Program!
You have probably heard about all of the wonderful CSA programs that farms throughout the state of Connecticut offer. However, today we are going to highlight Killam & Bassette Farmstead located in Glastonbury, CT for one of their unique CSA options: The Killam & Bassette Credit Card CSA!
Killam & Bassette not only offers the standard CSA programs that most people are familiar with, but they also offer a Credit Card CSA Program. Yes you heard me right, credit card! I was astonished when I first heard about this amazing option because I had never heard anything like it, and it is truly genius! Starting at signup, the program runs through December 31, 2024 and here’s how it works:
You can sign up for a half share, full share, or a mega share.
For the half share, you will pay $350 and receive a Killam & Bassette Farmstead Credit Card worth $400.
For the full share, you will pay $600 and receive a Killam & Bassette Farmstead Credit Card for $675.
But wait, there’s more! You can also sign up for the mega share for $1000 and receive a Killam & Bassette Credit Card worth $1,100.
For all of these options, you get extra money put onto your card from what you paid - amazing!
Okay, so I’ve purchased my Killam & Bassette Credit Card, now how do I use it?!
It’s so easy!! Unlike the regular CSA program options, there is no certain day to pick up items. This credit card program is truly tailored to fit the needs of YOUR schedule! You can come and go as you please, which is so nice because you can go as little or as often as you want!
No matter which option you choose, these credit cards can be used at the Killam & Bassette farmstand (1098 Main Street - opened January through Spring 10:00-5:30 then Memorial Day weekend through December 31st. 9:30am-6:30pm).
Better yet, you can also use these credit cards at any of the 18 farmers markets they attend (and also any craft fair and events they attend throughout the year).
Once you purchase your Killam & Bassette Farmstead Credit Card in full, you can start using it right away!
What can I use my Killam & Bassette Credit Card on?!
Unlike the regular Summer CSA and Fall/Winter CSA programs, you can use the credit cards on any products they sell - yes, you heard me right, any!
Look for various options like fresh produce, canned goods, eggs, meats, plants, CT made gift shop, trees, wreaths, fall mums, etc.
The only thing you cannot use your Killam & Bassette Credit Card for is for any of their event tickets (farm dinners, spooky stroll, etc.). This makes it SO easy to assure you are really buying the products that you need each week.
My family and I have purchased a full share Killam & Bassette Credit Card, and we have had nothing but wonderful experiences every time we are there!
Honestly - I think my three & five year olds enjoy it just as much as I do (I may, or may not let them pick a sweet treat every time we go)!
I chose this program because of the flexibility of it. I know I am the kind of person who would end up wasting fresh produce if I had a big batch of products to pick up every week. The Credit Card is very similar to a gift card, so I know I can just head on over to the farmstand when I please, which I absolutely love. It is seriously genius!
The farm stand itself is absolutely adorable and super easy to access right off the main road. Every time I go, the stand is fully stocked with the freshest produce, canned goods, meats, and more! I’ve never once left feeling disappointed.
