Putting CT Grown on Your Easter Plate!

Easter Roast:

A lot of times we think of farms as the home of our fresh produce options like fruits and vegetables. However, more than 800 farms in Connecticut raise more than 14,000 beef cows, providing your source of steak, burgers, chuck roasts, and more. But don’t forget about all of the other livestock options like chicken, pork, turkey, lamb, and sometimes even bison and emu. Whatever your meat preference, there is a farm for you! This is perfect for thinking ahead to the main dish for your Easter dinner.

Not sure what to go with? Grab a meaty chuck roast from your local farm, and try out the most delicious Mississippi Pot Roast for your Easter dinner. It is a family favorite in my home, and so easy to make!

Kids Corner With Molly: Easter Morning Pancakes!

It’s Easter morning: The kids have hunted for all their eggs, found their baskets, there is shredded Easter grass covering the floor. The dog is going wild, the kids are on an alltime high (so is the volume of their voices)- chaos you say? No. Perfection!

The next best thing? Easter morning pancakes. I don’t know about you, but having a big Easter breakfast is a staple in my family! While I love to indulge in a few mimosas, my kids LOVE Easter morning pancakes! If this is something that sounds good to you, try making your own pancakes from scratch.

Pancakes include ingredients like milk, eggs, butter, and maple syrup – all produced at Connecticut farms year round. It’s a win, win for everyone! Better yet, put some of your kid’s adrenaline to use and have them help you out in the kitchen. They will love the measuring, mixing, scooping, and buttering of these delicious pancakes! I hope you give it a try and enjoy this yummy Easter morning breakfast treat. I know my family will! Happy Easter!

You can even try letting them build a fun Easter Bunny, Easter Egg, or Easter Basket with the pancakes for an extra special treat!
